 | Water is critical for plant growth. There are some circumstances where water availability becomes a more serious concern. For example when cultivating seeds, growbags, hanging baskets and shrub planting. In these circumstances water retention can be extended so reducing the frequency of watering. |
Transplantation of trees, shrubs, field crops and ornamentals can be a critical process during which “shock” from lack of water is always a risk. During this critical phase water supply must be maintained while new roots are being established.
Four main applications exist:
- Peat amendment, e.g. in hanging baskets.
- Root dipping, e.g. in forestry.
- Landscaping, e.g. grass establishment.
- Horticulture, e.g. flower growing and packing.
